School PARLIAMENT

Our School Parliament is a representative group of students who have been proposed and elected by their peers to represent their views and raise issues with the staff and governors in our school. There is a parliament representative in every class. We aim to give every child a voice.

Our School Parliament also propose and take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers. They are involved in strategic planning and processes such as school development and governing body meetings.

The object of the Parliament is to let the children know that their school responds to their needs and views; it gives them the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them and have 'a say' towards future development.  Pupils are empowered; they know they play an active role in making their school a better place and a stronger community.  Ultimately the children develop many life skills through School Parliament participation.
